I got a parcel in the mail! Yay! It’s the stamp making supplies I ordered from Etsy, all the way from Japan.
A few months ago I made some stamps for fabric printing which turned out really well and I LOVE the top and the dress I made with the fabric.
The lino cutting tools I had left a lot to be desired though. They were good for removing chunks but not good for doing fine lines so I’ve been limited in what I could do. I did some research and found this great page by artist Tian Gan about the different tools and blocks she uses in her work. I decided to get the small set of Japanese stamp carving tools with a very fine blade and to try the Seed stamp block. Up to now I’ve been using giant erasers and haven’t used a block designed to make stamps.
I can't wait to sit down with my sketchbook and tools and make some new stamps. I'm going to post again soon about the stamps I make, how the tools went and all the lovely fabric I print.
